Frequently Asked Questions About Our Feeding Program

Can't find your answer? Email stephanie@mealtime-together.com

Intensive feeding treatment provides a higher level of support than traditional weekly therapy. Sessions occur over longer periods of time and target multiple meals per day, allowing for more direct practice, caregiver coaching, and carryover in your child's everyday environment.

Many families have come to us having tried feeding therapy before. We'll review your child's feeding history and what's been tried, and build an individualized plan from there.

Contact Mealtime Together to complete an initial questionnaire. We'll help determine whether this program is the right fit for your child.

The feeding therapist works directly with your child at each meal, building sessions around your family's daily schedule (and helping create one if needed). We work on individualized goals and mealtime modifications, such as expanding food variety, increasing volume, and improving feeding skills. Caregivers are coached throughout sessions so they can implement these strategies between treatment visits. The feeding therapist also provides meal plans and food lists to support progress between sessions.

The time between sessions is just as important as the sessions themselves. It gives children the chance to practice new skills and adjust to changes in their feeding routine. Caregivers are coached during each visit so they can continue strategies at mealtime on their own. Our feeding therapist stays in touch between visits to answer questions and help keep things on track.

Yes. Our team includes a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Speech-Language Pathologist, and Registered Dietitian. We also collaborate with your child's medical team to ensure continuity of care.

Insurance coverage may be an option as many commercial insurance plans have policies such as CG-MED-37: Intensive Programs for Pediatric Feeding Disorders. If your plan includes this benefit, we can help you pursue a Single Case Agreement with a Network Deficiency Exception, which allows for coverage when there are no in-network providers offering the services your child needs.

In accordance with The No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a good faith estimate for the amount you expect to be billed for scheduled items and services if you are uninsured or plan to not use insurance.

A good faith estimate must be provided at least 72 hours (3 days) before a service is rendered OR If a service is scheduled within 3 days, the good faith estimate must be given at least 3 hours ahead of time.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your good faith estimate, you can dispute the bill. It is recommended to save a copy or take a picture of your good faith estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a good faith estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the No Surprises Helpdesk at 1-800-985-3059.
